WATCH: White House Triples Down On Attacking Preexisting Condition Protections
May 15, 2020
As Trump fights to overturn the entire ACA, which would strip protections from as many as 133 million Americans with preexisting conditions and take health care away from 20 million Americans, his White House is tripling down on promoting junk insurance plans that don’t give Americans the vital protections they need during this pandemic, including for preexisting conditions.
Three times over the past two days the White House has pushed for its disastrous junk insurance plans:
MCENANY: “So, the president is open to a phase four, he’s willing to talk about it, he’s mentioned that payroll tax cut several times, but he is very much opposed to the Democrat bill that has been put out, the wish list of paying illegal immigrants with taxpayer dollars, and the various other proposals like not allowing us to talk about very good, smart health care plans that are cheaper than Obamacare, like short-term, limited duration plans.”
MCENANY: “When you get down to the nuts and bolts of this proposal they put forward, these Democrats, Nancy Pelosi is hiding from the American people that there are plans that are 60% cheaper than Obamacare, and that’s short-term plans, limited duration plans, association health care plans.”
WHITE HOUSE: “A BAN on information about low-cost health insurance. That’s right—House Democrats want to forbid the government from sharing any information with you about lower-cost health options such as association plans or short-term plans. Even as families try to cope with job and wage losses, Speaker Pelosi doesn’t want them to learn about options that are up to 60 percent cheaper than Obamacare.”
