What You Missed From Nikki Haley’s CNN Town Hall

Nikki Haley spent last night reminding Americans how extreme her MAGA agenda truly is — including banning abortion nationwide, ending Social Security and Medicare as we know it, and siding with the gun lobby over the safety of our communities.

Minutes before her town hall started, one of her chief endorsers admitted Haley would fully embrace Trump’s MAGA agenda.

Norman last night: “Haley and all the others will put into effect the sound policies that Donald Trump did. So no, I don’t think she’ll differentiate herself.”

Once she took the stage, Haley doubled down on her support for a nationwide abortion ban, which she has already promised to sign.

Haley last night: “I think that there is a federal role for [abortion].”

Fox News: “Republican presidential candidate and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is pledging to sign a federal ban on abortion.”

Haley was pressed on her agenda to gut Social Security and Medicare, which she has supported cutting for years.

Haley last night: “Don’t lie to them and say, ‘Oh, we don’t have to deal with entitlement reform.’ Yes we do. Yes we do. It’s the reality. I’m always gonna tell the truth. Is it gonna hurt? Yes.”

Associated Press: “Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is proposing changes to entitlement programs for younger generations, opening the door to potential cuts to Social Security and Medicare if elected.”

Washington Post: “Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador who is planning to announce her own presidential bid this month, also praised Ryan’s [proposal to cut and privatize Medicare] at the time and said lawmakers should examine Medicare and Social Security spending to address federal debt.

“‘What they need to be doing is looking at entitlements,’ Haley said in a 2010 interview on Fox News. ‘Look at Social Security. Look at Medicaid. Look at Medicare. Look at these things, and let’s actually go to the heart of what is causing government to grow, and tackle that.’”

Haley said she does not support red flag laws, proving again that she’s more willing to coddle the gun lobby than keep our communities safe.

Haley last night: “I don’t trust government to deal with red flag laws.”

USA Today: “After Nashville school shooting, Nikki Haley tells voters she is against gun control legislation”

Washington Times: “Nikki Haley: Feds should fix gun background checks, not expand them”
