Zinke On Growing List Of Trump Officials Under Investigation
October 31, 2018
Another day, another report of scandal-plagued Trump administration officials under investigation. The Justice Department has reportedly opened an investigation into Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke for using his office for political gain.
The Justice Department is reportedly investigating Secretary Zinke for using his office for political gain.
CNN: “The Justice Department is investigating Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke for possibly using his office for personal gain, following a referral from Interior’s inspector general, two sources familiar with the investigation say.”
Washington Post: “While an agency’s inspector general regularly issues reports on the findings of its inquiries, it only refers cases to the Justice Department when it has determined that there could be potential criminal violations.”
Zinke is so scandal-plagued that it’s not even clear which of the inspector general’s probes was referred to the Justice Department.
Washington Post: “The individuals, who spoke of the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly, did not specify which inquiry had been referred to the Justice Department.”
New York Times: “Mr. Zinke is the subject of at least 18 known federal investigations into allegations of ethical misconduct or other policy violations.”
Just this month, the inspector general of Zinke’s own agency faulted his approach to travel.
Politico: “Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke sought to skirt or alter department policies to justify his taxpayer-funded trips with his wife, the agency’s inspector general said in the latest critical report on travel practices by President Donald Trump’s Cabinet members.”
Zinke is just the latest in the ever-growing list of corrupt Trump administration officials.
