In response to Ron DeSantis’s CNN town hall tonight, DNC National Press Secretary Sarafina Chitika released the following statement:

“When asked about the horrific attack on our democracy on January 6 three years ago this week, Ron DeSantis conveniently forgot to mention that he has repeatedly downplayed the riot, spread conspiracy theories, and used his office to promote, embrace, and empower election deniers and insurrectionists. DeSantis can try to dodge his record all he wants – voters won’t forget that he, Donald Trump, and the 2024 Republican field are running on a dangerous anti-freedom, anti-democracy agenda that would undermine the democratic principles our country is built on.”
