STATEMENT: Trump Surrogate RFK Jr.: Harris Won The Debate

Yesterday, Donald Trump surrogate RFK Jr. admitted in multiple interviews that Vice President Harris won the debate and criticized Donald Trump’s performance. He even alluded to private conversations with members and confidants of the Trump family who shared his opinion.

In response, DNC Spokesperson Matt Corridoni released the following statement:

“We agree.”

RFK Jr.: “Vice President Harris clearly won the debate in terms of her delivery, her polish, her organization, and her preparation… [Donald Trump] got distracted, and I think it’s unfortunate… He was not able to make that case to the American public.”

Neil Cavuto: “[Trump said] a couple of times today that he won the debate and all the polls show that he won the debate. I haven’t seen a single one show that. What did you think of that reaction?”

RFK Jr.: “I have seen those polls. They are polls that you see on the internet, and a lot of them probably have statistical problems with them. But I would suspect that the
polling over the next week is going to show probably a slight drop in his support, particularly among independents.”

“I think that Vice President Harris was better prepared and that she was much more polished… [Donald Trump’s delivery] is bad. […] I’ve spoken to people on his team and members of his family… I think they feel the same way that I do. I think that, you know, there were some lost opportunities.”
