Trump Promised “No New Wars.” In One Year, He’s Ordered Strikes on Seven Foreign Nations

On the campaign trail, Donald Trump promised “no new wars” and said he would focus on bringing down costs for working people. One year later, costs have skyrocketed, Trump took health care away from millions of Americans in order to pay for tax handouts for billionaires, and he has taken NINE international trips — more than half of the total number of international trips he took during the four years of his first presidency. Meanwhile, he has ordered military strikes on seven countries, in addition to his strikes on boats in the Pacific and Caribbean.

  • Under Trump, the war in Ukraine rages on — despite his repeated promises that he would end the conflict in a day. His futile attempts to roll out the red carpet for Vladimir Putin in order to bring him to the table have gotten the U.S. nothing in return.
  • Then there’s Trump’s $40 billion bailout to Argentina, right as the country undercut our own soybean farmers amid a trade standoff with China.
  • Trump’s unhinged pursuit of Greenland caused economic turmoil both globally and domestically.
  • Trump started off his second year in office by deposing Venezuela’s dictator, then installed his second-in-command as the leader of the country, while committing American resources to regime change in the name of oil — something voters overwhelmingly disapprove of.
  • Now, Trump is creating his slush fund of taxpayer money with his so-called Board of Peace to curry favor with world leaders, all while he brings the U.S. closer to another foreign conflict with Iran

In his second term, Trump’s attention has been everywhere except on Americans and their most pressing issue: the cost of living. While Trump has his eyes trained abroad, working families at home are drowning in higher prices as mass layoffs continue.
