Donations

How can I donate?

To make a donation online to the Democratic National Committee, please click here. When you are ready to donate by mail, please send your donation to: Democratic National Committee, 430 South Capitol Street SE, PO Box 96585, Washington, DC 20077-7242. Please pair your donation with this mail-in donation form. If you intend to donate by check, please make your check payable to the “Democratic National Committee.” Should you prefer to pay by credit card, you can provide your personal credit card information in the donate by mail form linked above. There are a few pieces of information that campaign finance laws require us to gather from you. Please note that without your employer and occupation details, we are not legally allowed to accept the donation. If not mailing in the form above with your donation, please include the following information with your donation: Full name, Address, Employer and occupation information, Phone number, and Email address. To make a donation over the phone, please call the DNC donation customer service line at 877-336-7200.

How does the DNC allocate money?

The DNC is committed to building a winning coalition to elect Democrats from coast to coast, up and down the ballot. Your donations fund innovative organizing and get out the vote efforts and state-of-the-art data and technology infrastructure. We invest in all 57 Democratic state and territory parties and are building a robust voter protection network to ensure every American has equal access to the polls.

What are the requirements to donate?

You may make a donation to the Democratic National Committee if you: Are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder). Note: Americans living abroad will be asked for a copy of their passport photo page to ensure compliance with federal election law; Are at least eighteen years old; Are NOT a federal contractor; Contribute from your own funds. You cannot contribute funds that are being provided by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution; Make this contribution with your own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person; The contribution is not made from the general treasury funds of a corporation, labor organization, or national bank, or from the treasury or funds of an entity or person who is a federal contractor or a federally registered foreign agent.

Is my donation secure?

Yes. New online donations are made through our payment processing vendor, ActBlue. ActBlue is PCI compliant, which means they have passed rigorous security tests to ensure that donor credit cards are fully protected. ActBlue is also required to conduct quarterly security tests and annual external audits.

Is my donation tax deductible?

No, contributions or gifts to the Democratic National Committee are not tax deductible.

How can I modify my monthly donation?

You can modify your monthly donation via the the Act Blue Portal. You can use the ActBlue Portal to: Modify the dollar amount of your monthly donation; Update your payment details; Cancel a recurring contribution; Update your contact information.

If you do not already have an ActBlue account, please visit https://secure.actblue.com/my-express/ and create an account using the email address you provided with your donation.

Can I request a refund on my donation?

For any refund requests, please email the DNC Donor Cultivation team at grassrootspartners@dnc.org. You can also call us at 1-877-336-7200.

Will I receive a receipt?

A donation receipt will be sent to you at the email address you provide on the donation form. If you select a recurring donation, you will be sent an individual receipt each month when your donation is processed.

What are the contribution limits for DNC donations?

The individual contribution limit to the DNC is $413,000 per calendar year:

DNC General Fund (Limit: $41,300).

DNC Recount and Litigation Account (Limit: $123,900): The Recount and Litigation Account may be used to defray expenses related to the preparation for and the conduct of election recounts, contests, and other legal proceedings, including the DNC’s vital work across the country to combat voter suppression and protect the right to vote and have that vote be counted.

DNC Convention Account (Limit: $123,900): The Convention Account can be used to pay for any party expense related to planning or putting on the Convention, including the site selection work that began in earnest in early 2022. Because there is no longer any federal funding for the conventions, the DNC must heavily rely on contributions from generous donors to ensure a successful and memorable Convention that excites the base and puts forward the values and ideals of the Democratic Party.

DNC Headquarters Account (Limit: $123,900): DNC can use the Headquarters Account to pay for the DNC’s headquarters expenses (rent, utilities, maintenance, custodial, etc.) for both its headquarters in DC and across the country. This account can also be used for capital expenditures for the headquarters, including any computers, technology equipment, furniture, or other such assets.

How do I register to vote?

To register to vote, please follow these simple steps: (1) Visit IWillVote.com; (2) Select your state and click “Register to vote”; (3) Submit your basic information and follow the instructions according to your state of residence.

How can I check my voter registration status?

To check your voter registration status, visit https://vote.gov and follow the instructions. You will need to provide some personal information to confirm your identity.

How can I find voting information for my state and make a voting plan?

The Democrats know that our democracy is stronger when all eligible voters participate on election day. We encourage everyone to make a voting plan so that you can anticipate and prepare for any potential barriers to voting.

A voting plan should answer questions like: What is my state’s voter registration deadline? Am I voting by absentee ballot, mail-in ballot, early, or in person? Where am I voting, and how will I get there? Do I need to take off work or secure childcare? Do I have all the necessary documents to vote?

Answering these questions will help ensure that you and your community members are able to cast your ballots. Please head to iwillvote.com to learn more about the voting regulations and procedures in your state.

How can I join the voter protection team?

We are thrilled you want to help us ensure our democracy runs smoothly on Election Day! How do I report an issue at the polls?

Our democracy only works if all eligible voters have equal access to the ballot box. There are many ways to get involved with the Democrats:

Share Content Online: Get access to galleries of messaging and content, give feedback on content and its performance, and be a key component of how we organize online.

Join the Call Crew: As a member of our National Call Crew, you will join hundreds of volunteers in having meaningful conversations with voters in battleground states across the country.

Digital Correspondence Team: We’re focused on meeting people where they are, cultivating relationships with supporters and voters via email, text, and chat. Being a part of the Digital Correspondence Teams includes having 1:1 conversations with supporters by using thoughtful, innovative responses that meet users where they are, addresses questions or concerns, and translates Democratic wins and messaging through email, peer-to-peer texting, and broadcast text messages.
