DNC Chair Tom Perez, AAPI Caucus Chair Bel Leong-Hong,  Black Caucus Chair Virgie Rollins, Hispanic Caucus Chair Iris Martinez, LGBT Caucus Chair Earl Fowlkes, Native American Caucus Chair Rion Ramirez, and Women’s Caucus Chair Lottie Shackelford released the following statement on the passing of former DNC Chief Diversity Officer Greg Hinton:

“Our Democratic family is heartbroken this week. We lost a true champion in Greg Hinton. A lifelong fighter for the values of inclusion and opportunity, Greg understood that diversity is our nation’s greatest strength. At the DNC, he worked tirelessly to make sure our hiring reflected the diversity of our party and our country. This organization is a better place because of Greg’s leadership, and we will continue to carry on his legacy in the work we do each and every day.”
