DNC Statement Three Years After the Tree of Life Synagogue Shooting

Today marks three years since the deadly attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement:

“Three years ago today, 11 people lost their lives at the hands of a gunman who attacked the Tree of Life Synagogue during worship. It was the deadliest act of anti-Semitism in our nation’s history. Today, we honor and remember the innocent lives lost, the victims, and their families. May their memories be a blessing.

“In recent years, we have seen an increase in anti-Semitism, and it’s on all of us to combat the discrimination and hatred that fueled this attack three years ago, and which continues to rear its ugly head in our communities today. We remember the souls lost on that tragic day and honor our commitment to standing up against hatred as we continue our work toward a more peaceful and inclusive America.”
