Republicans Double Down On More Tax Cuts For The Rich

Despite voters rejecting the Trump tax law, Republicans are in denial and once again doubling down on pushing even more tax cuts for the richest Americans.

The Trump tax law failed to save the Republican majority.

The Hill: “The biggest accomplishment for congressional Republicans — passing a sweeping new tax law at the end of 2017 — didn’t end up saving the GOP majority in the House.”

Money Magazine: “Half the House Members Who Wrote Trump’s Tax Law Are Out of Their Jobs After Tuesday’s Vote”

Republicans (laughably) continue to lie about the impacts of their tax cuts.

Washington Post’s Erica Erner: “Kevin Brady says House Republicans exceeded expectations in the midterms

Also says the new tax law ‘made a huge difference’ and imagine the outcome without it”

Republicans doubled down on more tax cuts for the wealthiest 0.1%.

Roll Call’s Niels Lesniewski: “Inbox: SENATOR JON KYL INTRODUCES THE ESTATE TAX RATE REDUCTION ACT”

Now that the election is over, the White House admitted Trump’s promise of a middle-class tax cut isn’t going to happen.

Vox: “Larry Kudlow, director of the National Economic Council under Trump, acknowledged any hope of a middle-class tax cut was dead on arrival in an interview with Politico’s Ben White published on Thursday.”
