We Have Some Questions for Senate Republicans

While Democrats are working to lower costs and protect American freedoms, the GOP continues to make clear they are more concerned with pushing their extreme MAGA agenda. Mitch McConnell and his leadership team may try to avoid answering questions, but they owe Americans some answers.

Do Senate Republicans support GOP Leader Mitch McConnell in opposing a bill that would lower prescription drug prices for millions of Americans?

Igor Bobic, HuffPost: “McConnell signals GOP opposition to Democratic proposal aimed at lowering prescription drug prices, saying it contains ‘socialist price controls.’

‘The bill for made-up price controls always comes due,’ he adds”

Could the GOP simply not be interested in lowering costs for families? Or are they just more interested in the interests of China and Big Pharma?

POLITICO: “Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who has previously negotiated a plan to lower prescription drug costs with Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), admitted during a committee hearing it would likely be hard to pass if his own party regained control of Congress. He called on Democrats to pass it now.”

The GOP made clear overturning Roe was just the beginning. Will the GOP and its extreme MAGA lawmakers continue efforts to limit American freedoms like access to certain forms of birth control?

The Hill: “The Life at Conception Act, led by Rep. Alex Mooney (R-W.Va.), would recognize rights from the ‘moment of fertilization.’”

TIME: “Fetal personhood laws could also impact contraception access, given that some members of the anti-abortion movement argue that IUDs and the emergency contraception Plan B can prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg and violate personhood, explains Mary Ziegler, an abortion law historian at the University of California, Davis, School of Law.”

The GOP and extreme MAGA Republicans prove time again that lowering costs and protecting the reproductive health of Americans is not a priority of theirs.
