Thousands of Democrats across 42 states will spend the weekend participating in canvasses, phone banks, voter registration drives, volunteer trainings, and community events that continue to mobilize key voters ahead of the midterm elections.
The DNC is doubling down on the organizing tactics that win elections by launching a nationwide 100 Days Out Weekend of Action with 425 on-the-ground events. They’ll be taking place this Saturday and Sunday in communities throughout 42 states and four territories.
Democratic organizers, volunteers, fellows, and staff will spend the weekend having more than 15,000 conversations with voters during door-to-door canvasses, block walks, voter registration drives, phone banks, and community events. These organizing events with state parties and coordinated campaigns are utilizing the DNC’s proven tactics, trainings, and best practices to reach, register, engage, and mobilize the voters who will make the difference in races up and down the ballot this November.
In response to the launch of the 100 Days Out Weekend of Action, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:
“With only 100 days left until the most important midterm elections of our lives, Democrats throughout the country are all gas, no brakes. We are pounding the pavement and continuing to do the work that wins elections — from registering voters and signing up new volunteers to knocking on doors, making phone calls, and hosting hundreds of events. We are organizing everywhere, fighting for every vote, and making the investments necessary to win up and down the ballot.”
This activation comes just one week after the DNC held a voter registration weekend of action at World Cup watch parties where organizers registered thousands of new Democratic voters. Last month, the DNC also hosted a Stuff Costs Too Much Weekend of Action in which Democrats held more than 200 on-the-ground events, engaged thousands of volunteers, and trained 150 new organizers.
These weekends of action build on the DNC’s work to reach people where they are and invest in year-round, on-the-ground organizing that will ensure Democrats flip control of Congress, win critical state races, and deliver for working families. This includes:
- Unprecedented investments in state parties and record investments in red states. With its innovative State Partnership Program, the DNC is sending $17,500 to every state every month — the largest investment into state parties in history. The DNC’s Red State Fund also sends an additional $5,000 a month into Republican states, helping to organize, compete, and win everywhere.
- Our largest-ever campaign to register and mobilize the next generation of Democratic voters ahead of the midterms. By launching its innovative When We Count program, the DNC is leading the charge on partisan voter registration and working to train Democrats throughout the country on this proven work. In addition to funding fellows who are out meeting and registering voters each day, the DNC has also trained more than 1,500 county party leaders, organizers, and grassroots volunteers on the best practices to run effective partisan voter registration programs in their communities.
- The largest-ever in-person campaign training program that is placing campaign talent that every battleground state needs to run winning programs. Through its successful train-to-hire Organizer Bootcamps, the DNC is on track to recruit and place 300 new organizers by September 1st. In addition to publishing The Playbook — an actionable guide to build winning campaigns — and hosting four NextWave Regional Bootcamps that have included participants from all 50 states, the DNC has funded key senior leadership positions to ensure battlegrounds had high-quality leadership in place early.
- Launching robust distributed organizing programs and a new voter contact initiative to engage and listen to infrequent voters in key congressional districts and states. Through its national Local Listeners program, the DNC is reaching out to hundreds of thousands of people living in battleground congressional districts who voted in 2020 but sat out in 2024.
- Building the data infrastructure, sophisticated modeling, and strategic targeting that every Democratic campaign utilizes to reach, persuade, and mobilize key voters. The DNC is working with every state party to ensure campaigns have up-to-date voter files to support campaign outreach. The DNC technology and organizing teams are also piloting a set of innovative organizing tools and providing campaigns with toolkits to power the next generation of voter engagement programs.
- Helping state parties and campaigns protect the right to vote and hold the Trump administration fully accountable. The DNC’s voter protection team works across the country to build and maintain the systems Democrats need so that every eligible person can register, vote, and have their vote counted without unfair barriers, threats, or confusion. Democrats are taking Trump and Republicans to court and beating them to stop their attempts to meddle in elections and suppress the voting rights of Americans.
